foto1aGitta Rutledge, a poet, a Polish and American citizen, was born in Czelabinsk in the Urals, the borderland between Europe and Asia. She graduated from Poznań Medical College, Department of Electroradiology. She emigrated to the United States in 1972. She has visited Poland regularly. She speaks Polish, English and Russian fluently. Manhattan, where she lived for thirty seven years, was the place where she started writing poems.

In 2008 she made her debut with a volume of poetry “Labirynth”. In 2010 another volume of lyric poetry “Fascinations” whose promotion took place in Poznań Society of Friends of Science was published. At the beginning of 2011 next volume “CONFESSIONS” appeared, and in May – another one - “PASSIONS”. Her fifth and sixth volume – “HEAT OF AFFECTION” and selection of poems “ENCHANTMENT” are being prepared for publication.
